Rules:

By entering and competing in this horse show, all competitors agree to the following:

  1. Assumption of Risk
    Equestrian activities are inherently dangerous. Horses can be unpredictable and may act suddenly. All competitors acknowledge and accept that participation is at their own risk.
  2. Responsibility
    Competitors are responsible for the welfare, control, and safety of their own horse(s), themselves, and any persons accompanying them. The organisers accept no responsibility for any injury, illness, loss, damage, or expense to any person, horse, or property, however caused.
  3. Insurance & Veterinary Care
    Competitors are strongly advised to have appropriate personal accident, public liability, and veterinary insurance. Any veterinary or medical treatment required during the event remains the responsibility of the competitor.
  4. Compliance with Rules
    Competitors must comply with all show rules, steward instructions, and relevant welfare and safety regulations. Failure to do so may result in disqualification and removal from the showground.
  5. Consent to Photography
    By entering, competitors consent to the use of photographs and/or video taken during the event for promotional and reporting purposes.

We welcome and encourage competitors and spectators to share their experience of the show on social media. However, to protect the reputation of the event, its officials, and fellow competitors, the following rules apply:

6.          Respectful Conduct
All posts, comments, and images shared online relating to this event must be respectful, truthful, and in keeping with the spirit of good sportsmanship. Abusive, offensive, defamatory, or discriminatory remarks about the event, its officials, other competitors, or their horses will not be tolerated.

7.           Entries & Eligibility

  • All entries must be made before the closing date (unless otherwise stated). Late entries may be refused or charged an additional fee.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organisers.
  • Horses and ponies must be of sound health and suitable for the classes entered.
  • The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason

8.          Horse Welfare

  • Any horse or pony showing signs of lameness, illness, or distress may be asked to leave the ring or showground.
  • Horses must be handled and ridden with care and respect at all times.
  • Abuse, excessive use of whip or spurs, or dangerous riding will result in immediate disqualification.

9.          Attire & Tack

  • Competitors must wear correct and appropriate clothing and footwear for the class entered.
  • Protective headgear to current safety standards must be worn and properly fastened at all times when mounted.
  • Saddlery and tack must be safe, clean, and appropriate for the class. The judge’s/steward’s decision on tack compliance is final.

10.      Conduct & Safety

  • No galloping or dangerous riding outside designated warm-up areas.
  • Follow the instructions of stewards, judges, and officials at all times.
  • Children must be supervised at all times.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead and under control any fouling must be picked up and placed in the bins provided
  • No mucking out of horse boxes and trailers on the field
  • Please place rubbish in the bins provided.

11.     Judging & Protests

  • The judge’s decision is final.
  • Any objections must be made in writing to the secretary within 30 minutes of the class, accompanied by a £25 deposit (refundable if the objection is upheld).

12.     Liability

  • Competitors compete at their own risk.
  • The organisers accept no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to any person, horse, or property.
